Golden Beach or Skala Panagias and for the locals "Avlakia", is the most popular and beautiful beach of the island, it is located 11 klm north-east of the island's capital Limenas or Thassos and 4 klm from the village of Panagia. The beach consists of thin clean golden sand, which get's its name from, spans for almost 2 klm, it's wide and begins north from the pier where in the past the small boats with tourists used to moor and streaches south to Skala Potamias or golden coast.
